An Important Message About Fraudulent Job Postings
Career Services would like to make all students aware of the increase in employment opportunities scams. Nationally, career centers have reported an increase in the amount of fraudulent postings submitted through a variety of online venues.
As job seekers, please be cautious of positions that require you to provide money up front for a "start up" business; positions that provide you payment before any service has been rendered; and especially those that ask you to deposit a check in your bank account and wire money to an unknown individual.
Please know that our office is doing everything possible to try and ensure that these postings do not get submitted through Handshake.
If you are ever suspicious about a position in Handshake, contact Laura Schrubb.
